As Sales Technical Engineer, you are the main interface between our customers and our organization. You identify customers’ needs, design, quote the relevant products and handle the order-to-delivery cycle from A to Z together with the purchasing and logistics departments. You report to the Sales Manager & Director.


Key responsibilities of this function

  • Analyze the customer requirements, select and/or design products that best fit his needs
  • Engineering development of customer-specific solutions.
    • Make technical drawings for production (2 & 3D’s)
    • Understand customer’s local environment and identifies new technical applications suited to their needs
  • Decide on pricing, prepare quotes and raise orders
  • Purchasing support
    • Purchase of technical components
    • Coordinate information flow within the sales team and with the production department
    • Find opportunities in new technology & services to develop the existing business
  • Sales support
    • Confer with sales representatives to develop objectives for market areas
    • Represents the company on technical matters in order to sustain the trust relationship with key accounts and establish lasting, professional relationships with customers
    • Follow-up on sales (from order to delivery)
    • Handle customer complaints
    • Help develop and maintain sales support tools and systems (e.g ERP)
    • Participate and/or drive internal sales improvement process


Your working day could look like this:

You start the day by checking your inbox with the latest customers’ requests. One of our customers just sent you a quote request for a big project and after reading it, you decide to give him a call to suggest a customized solution based on your technical knowledges. After having clarified the client’s expectations, you send him the requested quotes with 3D’s drawings and technical data. Later that morning, you have a training about fans and filters. The trainer is a Technical Engineer, one of your colleagues. In the afternoon, you call some customers to follow-up your offers and discuss with them to suggest alternatives if necessary. Therefore, you collaborate with the sales team members in order to brainstorm a more suitable solution. At the end of the day, after having handled other requests, you have a short meeting with the purchasing team to follow the progress on specific purchase orders.


The successful candidate will have the following requirements:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree with an Engineering focus – or equivalent by experience in technical field
  • 0 to 5 years of experience within the industrial sector
  • Good communication & commercial skills – verbal, presentation & writing skills
  • Strong technical understanding abilities
  • Flexible, persistent, autonomous and proactive
  • Fluent in Dutch & English – French is a plus but not mandatory
